Miles Fortner, D.C.
Thanks for checking out my website and clinic. I am a born and raised 4th generation Gillette native. I grew up on a ranch/farm here in Campbell County and was inspired to be a Chiropractor by my dad who knew how spine pain negatively impacts people of all kinds but especially the hard-working blue-collar workers. Being a rancher and welder at the coal mines, he urged me to be a Chiropractor so I could help those breaking their backs for this community.
I graduated with honors from Parker University Chiropractic College in 2013 and moved back to Gillette to help the community I was raised in. I took over Dr. Scott Hunter’s practice in 2014 as he retired. Since, I have been fortunate to find amazing long- term staff. Tara has been my office manager and main rehab technician since 2015 and many people know her to be a main pillar of this practice. I was also able to bring on an awesome young chiropractor, Dr. TJ Woodham, from Florida in 2017 as he helped me recover from a knee injury that I had sustained while bighorn sheep hunting. Thankfully he fell in love with Wyoming and has hung his hat here since. Then Bonnie joined the team in 2019 to be our patient coordinator. These are important people and part of my bio because we are able to function like family and it makes our work environment special.
Outside of the office, I am a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and teach in the Academy (Western Plains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) adjacent to my practice. I have a team of amazing coaches and we are able to teach men, women, and kids both the fundamental self-defense of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as sport Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2007 and was awarded my Black Belt on August 14, 2021.
Lastly, I love the mountains and taking my string of mules and horses into the backcountry of the Shoshone Wilderness scouting and helping guide bighorn sheep hunters with my good friend and outfitter Meade Dominick. I am an avid hunter of all kinds, but the bighorn sheep has a special place in my heart.
In my spare time, I compose and assist with spine rehabilitation research and have published 9 peer-reviewed case studies of patients from my office. You can find those on this website here. I feel it’s important to share the amazing work patients are doing to improve their health and we can document those amazing changes for others to gain hope that they might be able to be helped as well.
